So we went back to Mozza for another working lunch and to see if the pizzas were still the best around for a fiver.
Can’t remember the exact pizzas we ordered but each of them was excellent – nice light bases with an airy crusts and fresh toppings. Really good pizzas!
I hope they continue with the lunchtime deal to reel in the masses for lunch during the week!

Mozza is a new pizzeria in Glasgow owned by the Tony Macaroni group. When I heard we were going there for lunch because the pizzas were a fiver, I wasn’t expecting great things. I was naive. The £5 price-point is a special offer Mozza runs called “5 ’til 5” – any pizza from the menu for a fiver before 5pm Sun-Fri (and, if you’re female, you get a glass of wine, too. Nothing extra if you’re male – what a sexist world…). The pizza was excellent!
I ummed and erred and decided on the “Number 12” – tomato sauce, chorizo (although I swapped this for Italian sausage), Neopolitan broccoli, smoked mozzarella, rocket, pecorino and chilli oil – and thoroughly enjoyed it! The sourdough base was light and crispy around the edges and the flavours of the fresh ingredients was fantastic! The chilli oil added a nice kick (I added a little more oil) – next time I think I’ll incorporate ‘nduja into my pizza; I tried a little of my colleague’s and it was delicious!
There is more than enough choice on the menu and, of course, you’re able to swap ingredients for others so you should be able to get something right up your street.
Great pizza and, at the price, incredibly good value!
